This Christmas season seems to be flying by. I have shopped, worked, went to look at the lights, made cookies, decorated the tree and am starting to get ready for Christmas Day. That day is so busy, but I love having all our family over to share in the dinner we fix with love. Turkey, mashed potatoes, baked beans, green beans, gravy, rolls, deviled eggs, sweet potatoes, cranberry salad and a lot of dessert. I always think is fun to find out what other families have to celebrate the day. I have a friend that make macaroni salad to go with the turkey. We will have around 30 for the the evening meal. I know that I will be busy, but that just shows how blessed we are.
We have a large family nearby.
We have a warm home to which we invite them
We are blessed to have food to eat.
I feel particularly blessed to have my daughter, son, daugther in law and the 2 grandsons will spend the day with us.
Leave a comment on what you have to eat on Christmas and some one could get some happy mail.
Merry Christmas

It's usually just me & my husband for Christmas dinner because only my parents live near us & they go to Calif. for Christmas where the rest of my family lives. My husbands family is also out of state. So for the 2 of us I usually make a simple ham dinner.

On Christmas we normally have some... Turkey, Tourtier & Raggout de pate de cochon... traditional Quebec food.

There is always so much food... a few hours after dinner when the men start getting hungry again we snack on Turkey salad sandwhiches.

Have a great Christmas with your family and friends.

Every year on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember we have Tex-Mex food for dinner. We use recipes handed down from my great grandmother and my maternal grandparents. The cooking and serving (and eating of course!) is a family affair. Somehow, everyone ends up in the kitchen!

Now you're talking--I love food!! I was hoping for ham this year, but we're having turkey (NO complaints!!) and I love making a certain sweet potato dish, and we have yummy stuffing, and pumpkin pie and I'm going to make either pumpkin pie or tiramisu cheesecake. Can't decide. Not sure what else we'll have. We're celebrating with both families! My children are blessed to spend every holiday and birthday with their grandchildren.

For me it wouldn't be Christmas dinner unless it's turkey. We're having 2 Christmas dinners this year - one on Sunday with my sister & her family and the next on Christmas Day. This year my mother & I are sharing the cooking on Christmas Day. I'll take the turkey & goodies to my mother's house to eat. We always have turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, squash, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, carrot salad, mandarin salad as well as rolls. Dessert is apple pie (mom makes the best), cookies & squares that I make and the evening is spent munching on goodies & a crab dip that I make as well....I also make the traditional Christmas morning breakfast of Scrambled Egg Casserole....now I'm hungry!!!

Merry Christmas Maxine, it is a blessing to have things in life that so many take for grantes such as family, food, heat. Enjoy them all :)

We usually a mixture of things with each of us contributing this and that, but I without a doubt will make macaoni and cheese, the old fashioned way and brownies because my nephew is a chocoholic as is the hubby :)

Fiskahugs to you!

I am pretty easy on myself on Christmas. I am not a good cook, just plain don't know how to cook. So my husband helps with the turkey and we make homemade mash potatoes like my dad makes and some corn. Pretty simple. It's all about who's at the table.

This Christmas we are having a roast instead of ham or turkey, rice & gravy, broccoli rice cassarole, green bean cassarole, corn bread dressing, mac & cheese, potatoe salad, rolls and pecan pie!
